We will be having our annual Custer Water Association meeting starting at 7pm on November 13th in the Custer Elementary School library.
We will discuss:
- Increasing the water share price.
- Eliminating the lower tier water rate.
- Reading meters every other month with billing also going bi-monthly
- Installing a filtration system
- All leaks that occurred and fire water usage.
- Reservoir cleaning and many other improvements.
Hope to see you there.
We have a water leak on Valley View Rd. We are working to repair it but, in the meantime, you may experience dirty water. Thank you for your patience.
Note - As of 4:45 PM, the leak has been repaired. Thank you again.
Custer Water will be performing a system flush this Saturday (7/15). You may experience lower water pressure, air in the system, and dirtier water during this time. Flushing will begin around 8am.
We are also looking for volunteers to help with flushing. We know the weather is going to be beautiful, but we could really use your help. Flushing will go from 8am and probably finish around 3 or 4; however, most of the hard work will be done by noon if you need to get out early. If you want to help, please meet us at the well head around 8am this Saturday and wear some boots or waterproof shoes. The well head is located on the East side of Olson Road just north of Grandview at 6926 Olson Road.
Today, there was another fire that resulted in the fire department using large quantities of our water. This often stirs up minerals within the pipes, which can cause discoloration. The minerals are not harmful and will settle in a day or two. Thanks for your understanding.
36 hours ago a leak occurred in the system. It was located around 3 PM today and we are currently working to fix it. Water should be back in a few hours. Thank you for your patience.
Some time in the evening of the 19th or early morning on the 20th, Custer Water Started using significantly more water than normal. We believe there may be a leak in the system. The pumps are keeping up, but we would like to locate and fix this issue as soon as possible. If able, can you please check around your home to make sure you don't have a leak. Especially crawlspaces and lawn hydrants. Also, if you do notice a leak along the road, please let us know by calling (360) 384-1737
Custer Water Association will be flushing the system on Saturday (3/4) and Sunday (3/4). You may experience low water pressure and cloudy water.
Early this morning (2/22/23) a fire occurred in Custer. The fire department used a substantial amount of water at high flow rates. Unfortunately, these high flow rates often cause discolored water. Fortunately, no one was injured in the fire. Thank you for your understanding.
Custer Water Association had complications in reading meters for the month of January. We made the decision to not read the meters this month. As such, you will not get a bill from Custer Water Association this month and will get a bill next month that will contain two months worth of charges.
So, no bill this month and most likely a $60 bill (assuming you are under the minimum) for next month.
Hope this doesn't cause too much confusion.
Custer Water Association Board
Just letting everyone know that tomorrow (1/24) we will be cleaning out all the reservoirs. This means that you might get water with a higher mineral content than normal. There should be no loss of pressure.
